Well, I finally got a replacement monitor for my computer recently, after making do with my laptop for quite a while. In the process of doing updates and whatnot, I found that my scanner is now supported by Kubuntu quite nicely, whereas I hadn't had much luck when I'd last checked.

As a result, I can now start scanning more of my photos for upload, though I may not worry too much about adjusting balance and whatnot at this time.
